Northwestern is a rural baccalaureate-diverse university and is one of six institutions that comprise the Regional University System of Oklahoma. With its main campus in Alva, and branch campuses in Enid and Woodward, Northwestern is able to provide higher education opportunities to a large geographical area. We excel in teaching and meeting the individual needs of our 2,100 students. Northwestern offers more than 40 choices of undergraduate degree programs and two programs leading to a master’s degree. Courses are delivered through traditional classroom methods, but also are available through interactive television (ITV) and online. Northwestern offers several nationally-accredited academic programs, a vibrant campus life, and a myriad of opportunities for learning outside the classroom all in a safe and secure environment. At Northwestern, seeing students succeed and reach their goals is very important. We provide the cozy ambiance of a small university; a place where you can shine. Student success begins with a strong academic foundation and we offer a variety of services and programs to assist students in and out of the classroom. A first-year experience course for freshmen helps to make a successful transition to college. The academic advising of faculty that our students receive is highly rated and superior to many institutions. For students who need assistance in the classroom, Northwestern offers the services of the Academic Success Center, which provides peer tutoring and other academic services. Student success extends beyond the classroom, and many departments are focused on providing you with opportunities to be an active participant in campus life. Students can become involved with Student Government Association, residence hall organizations, Greek organizations and numerous other social and co-curricular organizations.
